Left 4 Dead computer help Thread

I am making this post because I have a dillema, I would like to play Left 4 dead with my wonderful wife but I am poor. So here I am with limited resorces trying to make a frankenstein computer with what I have spending as little as possible.
What I have:
Monitor - works fine.
Keyboard - sucks.
Mouse - Trackball
Dell Dimension 2400 - working with new HD
1G Ram - pretty nice OCZ 3200 speed or so, probally running slow b/c I cant figure out how to up its voltage on the dell.
Graphics card - Nvidia GeforceFX 5200
This is what I Have and it almost works. It loads but the graphics set to the lowest are a bit insane. Anyhow assume I know not enough to do anything clever to get around this software wise either I would greatly appriciate help in the terms of what I must Buy or Do in order to play left 4 dead on this (or another) computer for the lowest price possible.
