Saint's Row 2 isn't saving! Help!

It isn't saving!
I go on it, and work (cheat) my way into getting lots of money and I buy loads of cribs, pimp them out to look awesome, set up my gang as lookin like we're from the 80's, get myself lookin awesome, and do loads of missions, buy myself all my favourite songs from the music store, set my own personal radio playlist and get loads of cars in my garage
And yet when I save the game and go back on it later, all of that is totally gone and I'm some homeless chav without any friends and no cars.
Any ideas as to why it isn't saving any of my stuff? Is it because I'm using cheats, or is it something else.

I dont think the cheats block saving, and can't find anything online to say they do either.
When you load are you just doing "continue" or loading manually? May want to try saving the game (not an autosave) and then loading that save directly and see if that works.
