It's basically a puzzle game, where you play in a completely dark classroom, and try to get to the other side. Darkness kills you, so you have to use the environment in different ways to create light.
Retails for 800 Wii Points, no EU release date as far as I know.
Best part of the game? I didn't come up with the title for this thread :P, shamelessly stole it from the official website. Picture of the main character should confirm this:
I am tempted, but waiting on impressions from people here. I'm trying to spend LESS money on gaming than I did last year (olol that's never going to happen).
I'm about 60% of the way through, and it seems pretty solid.
The controls are a bit fickle, and will probably kill you a fair number of times. The graphics are N64-quality (but who really cares?). It's not really a scary game...at best, it's mildly creepy.
The mechanics feel really fresh and innovative. The difficulty feels just right so far; at this point I'll usually fail each stage a few times, but I'll always have some idea as to what else I could/should have done. (I have heard that the difficulty ramps up tremendously toward the end.) The IGN review complains that the puzzles are based heavily on trial and error, but that's bunk -- you certainly can use trial and error, but you can also reason through everything in advance. (One major exception: when they introduce a new mechanic, you might die once or twice before figuring out how it works. This is understandable though, and there's very little downtime when you die so it's not a problem.)
If you're on the fence, you should probably buy the game. Hell, it's only $8.
LIT is a highly original take on the puzzle genre that uses its oppressive atmosphere to focus the action and deliver an innovative experience that you’re unlikely to find in most other puzzlers. The main issues related to the sometimes awkward controls, slightly inconsistent puzzles and occasional bouts of frustration. Having said that, for 800 Wii points, you get lots of stages to play through (plus unlockables), and even a time trial mode called Dark Mode. WayForward put a lot of time and work into LIT at it shows; it’s not perfect but if you’re in the mood for a puzzle game with a difference, break out your flashlight and watch out for what hides in the dark.
Reminds me of Closure. Only it looks less interesting in every conceivable way.
I do welcome more Wiiware titles that don't revolve around throwing oranges or defending sandcastles, though.
Wow that looks pretty sweet, but it's really a completely different puzzler than this. So I guess the consensus is pretty good on this huh? I think I'll pick it up when it comes to Europe, could be this Friday, it's a WiiWare Friday. So is it really as emo as they make it out to be?:P
So, I've played it for a little bit (only about 15 levels in), and I've got to say, some of the level design so far leaves a bit to be desired. It's fun, and you should definitely play it with the lights off in your room, but I feel like I'm fighting against the level designs instead of figuring them out. Admittedly, that may have more to do with the fact that I've now learned that I prefer puzzles where I can see everything at first and figure out a strategy (see World of Goo, Toki Tori). The biggest irks that I have are that a) it's far too easy to turn on / off the wrong thing since the designers sometimes put things right next to each other and turn on / off radius for those items is a little too big, and b) the voice acting is pretty bad. It's not a bad game by any means, so if you're looking for a new and unique puzzle game, this isn't a waste of 800 Wii points. But if you haven't played World of Goo or Toki Tori yet, I'd suggest those first.

Can trade TF2 items or whatever else you're interested in. PM me.
Also, emo jokes are old. And obvious. Oh, the wit.
No they're not, emo.
I TOOK A BULLET FOR ALONE IN THE DARK, AND I'LL DO IT AGAIN FOR THIS ONE!
urahonkey, you're my savior. Now I don't have to be the one to do it...
Please tell me it's terrible so I can save money... please?
And that gameplay video? WAY too bright. Hell, he even goes to the "brightness" setting on the main screen, sees the instructions, then ignores them.

I'll do the same. I'm definitely intrigued by this review, and I absolutely love puzzle games. This sounds right up my alley.
