So, basically, i play nothing but WoW at the moment but i need something else to entertain me until the expansion comes out. I like FPS game as well as strategy and roleplaying games. i'm looking for something with more of a futuristic feel to it though. this is of course for the PC.
any suggestions?
Drunkenly pissing on a girl's work clothes is no path to a second date.
FEAR is a good FPS and the expansion - Extraction Point - came out recently. Neverwinter Nights 2 is a solid RPG that will get better when the user created content starts to appear.
Both of those games are pretty graphics intensive though.
Perhaps Battlefield 2142 (or whatever date it is) would be good, as it would cover your need for FPS/futuristic/multiplayer gaming?
Isn't Lego Star Wars II supposed to be good?
There's also Star Wars: Empire at War and the recent expansion Forces of Corruption.
I liked KOTOR2 a bit more than the first part, though the story is very hard to keep up with.
There are also some older SW FPSes. Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy should be fairly playable even now.
Dawn of War + expansions should occupy you for some time, and when you finish you can play it online. It's a strategy in the Warhammer 40K universe so it's kind of futuristic/sci-fi
Warhammer: Mark of Chaos came out recently, this one is based on the Warhammer fantasy universe and is an RTS with very little resource managment. The heroes and units also gain experience and you can choose abilities for the heroes when they level-up.
Medieval 2: Total War came out recently also.
I haven't finished it but Prey was fairly fun (sci-fi FPS). I heard it's short though.
There's also Dark Messiah of Might and Magic (fantasy fps/rpg), Gothic 3 (fantasy rpg), Company of Heroes (WWII RTS).

Deus Ex or System Shock 2 if you missed them, too.
Star Wars: The Best of PC
KotOR - RPG
Battlefront - Battlefield style FPS
Empire at War - RTS
Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast - FPS/Third-Person action/adventure
Republic Commando - FPS
14 Day Galaxies Trial - Shit
For $40 that's pretty good so long as you like Star Wars.
