Gun Suppressor mod, get it, love it.

And yes, Survival is too clearly superior, which is why it's getting nerfed, yay!

I use that little sound mod, works great.

Are you kidding, I love guns. Especially the gun shooting animation Draienei do where they flip it around after every shot.

The animations are great, the constant sound of gunfire will slowly drive you and your group insane.

Which is why crossbows are the best. You get the animation without the noise.

    Anyway, check it:

    dedzone.jpg

Deadzone DOES still exist. No lag issues, it's the real deal. My character was standing there trying to attack but couldn't because the target was too close to be shot at while still out of melee range.

I wasn't aware that it was ever in question that deadzone still existed for hunters.

You're browsing /b/, a file just finished downloading, and the little screen on that pc icon on your toolbar is yellow, indicating moderately high latency. I would say you're having a little bit of lag.

There's a little bit of a deadzone in the place where you would transition from ranged to melee abilities, but it's not 3-5 yards wide, like it was in the past.

Actually the file had finished downloading for a while, I just didn't click the window so it continued blinking.

But yes, the zone isn't what it was before and can for the most part go unnoticed.

However the problem with pets getting stuck on raised surfaces is still something that needs to be fixed. It's the equivalent of having your gun jam mid-firefight.

Yeah, pet pathing is probably always going to be a mess in this game.

Has anyone had any luck with Sambas? I've looked for him twice a day for about a week now and never see him

I would say try after a restart or maintence because most of the time the rares are up but I would guess he is very much in demand so you might have people killing him just to keep others from getting him

I used up all of my luck taming Ghostcrawler (the first spirit beast I've ever found alive since they were introduced two years ago) and Terrorpene. I've been hunting for Sambas and Madexx both with no luck at all.

In NPCScan, if there's an X under cached, does that mean i've never encountered it?

I think that means it's already in your cache, either because you already found it in the wild, or someone had it as a pet in a city and it pinged. Clear your cache.

So, in my quest to tame every possible Pet, I've filled up my Stable pages and now it looks like I can't add more, nor can I remove some pets I don't want to open up more stable slots. Is there any way to get rid of pets I don't use ? It's really surprising just how little information Blizzard provides about classes on its website.

Was mining for volatiles (for vial of sand) made sure NPC scan was unchached and got him last week. Some level 84 NE warrior was trying to kill him, I rectified his apples and tamed Sambas immediately afterwards.

Also got Vial of Sands mount acouple days ago, <3 my goblin guildy saving me 6k gold buying the purchased items for me. Best deals anywhere!

Pull them out as your active pet, right click on their portrait and choose abandon, I believe.

    That's why this page:
    http://us.battle.net/wow/en/game/class/hunter

Has a section called "More Information" and links to this page:
    http://www.wowpedia.org/Hunter

And that could lead you to:
    http://www.wowpedia.org/Hunter_pet

If you're going around looking for interesting pets, you'll also want to check out http://wow-petopia.com. They have a comprehensive listing of tameable beasts.

I will note that the information available on Blizzard's website is very thin, and that the links lead you to a variety of websites not created or administered by Blizzard. This is the sort of thing which Blizzard should be doing, not relying on outside websites to provide information and support.

So have you guys seen this yet?

    <soloing skadi>

I went ahead and did it last night right before I went to bed. I did wipe the first try, but second try it went really smoothly. No drake for me, but I'll keep it up. Camo is *really* useful for stuff like this.

Glad you posted this, as I hadn't thought to try it. Went in over the weekend and killed him first try, and by some ridiculous stroke of fortune... got the mount. I expect I've worn out my luck for 2011 already.

This got me looking into other things worth soloing, and lead me to a thread on the EJ boards about it. Seems there's quite a bit you can solo (10 man sarth & marrowgar ) if you run 7/31/3 for spirit bond, chimera shot, and 10% stam.

Been using a bear, but I can see how a turtle might be better.

There's just something fun about solo'ing a boss. I remember back on my Druid (when 60 was the cap), Stealthing into LBRS and solo'ing the spider boss for the boots she dropped. I must have killed that bitch 20x before the boots finally dropped!

Hope they don't "fix" these solo'ing things before I hit 85! (38 now).

I think in some cases they have reduced the gold dropped by the boss, which is fine. Pretty sure they did that to lvl 60 Onyxia shortly before the switch to lvl 80.

Wish they kept the hunter quest from MC, but it's cool that some people got bags out of it.

Camouflage definitely makes it easier to slip by like a rogue when trying solo old instances.

It's become something of a rite-of-passage for all my toons to loot the phoenix hatchling off Kael'thas in MT.

It's awesome for scouting pulls and setting up traps too. At first I never used Camoflage (I actually didn't even train it until I was like 1 day /played @ 85 because I forgot about it), but now I love it.

That's more likely a desync issue than a deadzone thing. I think on the server, that mob is actually just a little bit closer to you than it appears in the screenshot. As far as your client-side UI is concerned, he's far enough away to be out of Raptor Strike (melee) range and thus far enough away for your shots to work. But the server knows it's actually just within the minimum range of your shots, and thus spews out errors when your game client is trying to tell your character to use shots.

The fact that desyncs lead to an apparent deadzone is problematic, no doubt, but desyncs can screw up a lot of classes, not just hunters.

Wait, so camouflage actually works as a stealth effect around mobs? I was not aware of that (haven't even touched my hunter yet in Cata).

Camo in PvE is essentially a 1-minute stealth that doesn't drop your movement speed and you can trap from. (Also, CD is 1 minute so as long as you are in a safe place when it drops you are golden)

It also works on your pet.

It kinda works like a reverse mind soothe. It reduces the range that mobs will aggro you.

So you don't get the stealth "mob noticed you but won't aggro you unless you move closer" thing then? If you just get within a certain range they'll all aggro?
