No, actual hickeys. Though I've been passing them off as paintball welts.

I didn't actually get any welts from saturday, 90% of the hits on me were in the mask.

Why are you getting shot in the mask so much?

By comparison I never get shot in the mask. Always the body. You're doing something wrong.

What are you gonna do when you play in games with medics and you're always being killed off with bullets to the head so you can't be ressed?

I'd actually say you are the one doing something wrong. If you play a bunker right, you should only have your head and your marker exposed. If any more of your body is hanging out, then you could be playing your bunker better.

I've never played a game with a medic ever so, that's sort of a non-factor for me.

Also, visibility was terrible that day. It was raining/hailing, rain was getting on the inside of my mask, and the whole mask was fogging. I really need to buy a nicer mask if I ever want to play in those kinds of conditions again. As a result of poor visibility, I had to stick my head out for longer than I would have liked to see stuff.

Well clearly you and I play differently. I don't hide too much behind bunkers.

First of all, I never hide right next to a bunker period. I stay back at least 5 feet from the bunker to give myself a wide angle firing range. Sure, more people can see me, but so can I. And the only one who will live is the guy who shoots first.

Chances are though, I can still stand far behind the bunker and still be out of sight of the guys directly infront of me.

That is of course, if there are bunkers at all. Being a woodsman, I play where there are no man made bunkers, save for the occasional abandoned shack. It's all about hiding in the trees.

And in the woods, fights aren't linear anyway, you could be killed from any direction. A guy could come up right behind you and open up on you. And you will never know what hit you. I've shot guys in the back of the head before.

Pretty much all paintball you get to play in California is man made, at least in my area. Don't really have lots of woods to play in.

Shooting first doesn't mean you win, not with the speeds paintballs travel at. And sure, I've been shot from directions other than head on before, that just means someone out flanked my position or I'm getting bunkered, either one means I or my team screwed the pooch in some fashion.

But yeah, it would seem you and I play paintball decently differently.

Kind of a weird question. I know what camera I want (I think I know, anyway, I'm 95% sure), but I haven't seen a display model anywhere yet. It's a touchscreen which I'm sort of concerned about, so I definitely want to try it out before buying it... any ideas for tracking down a display model or something?

No woods? What about those woods and mountains that I always see on fire? Play there.

Also, you should try some alternative gametypes or rules every so often.

Medics are the easiest to implement and understand. Basically the medic is a special designated guy on the team who is allowed to use a towel to wipe off a hit on a wounded player. WHen you get shot in the arm or leg you basically get down and call for a medic to come wipe you. You cannot attack or do anything until this happens. Yes, this means your attacker could still show up and kill you freely. There's no greater feeling than executing someone this way.

Another gametype I like is known as PRESIDENT'S MEN. Basically there's one guy who has no gun and is a designated President type dude. One team tries to kill this man and the other team defends this guy, while moving him from Point A to Point B. At Point B, they win. I've jumped in front of a hail of gunfire before just to save a President. Heroic shit.

Those woods tend to be either state or national parks or, well, on fire.

I think I played a medic game type before, slightly different. Each team had a commander, and the commander could bring back anyway, regardless of how they died. Similar rules as to how you couldn't do anything once you were wounded.

    President sounds pretty fun.

Man why would you bring back anyone? That's kind of dumb. If a guy takes a bullet to the head you know he's dead. A shot to the torso is also assumed to be deadly. And a shot to the gun renders the soldier useless or inexplicably blows up in his hands and kills him.
