FM Radio receivers that are only tuned to one station
I'm looking for cheap, buy-in-bulk producers of FM radios to use as a fundraiser for my college radio station. Ideally, they'll be permanently tuned in to the school station's frequency. Anybody know where I can find something like this?
Start off by doing a google search for 'promotional products FM radio'
There are loads of companies that do a wide range of promotional products and 'business gifts' - all sorts of tat like golf umbrellas, USB sticks, pens and quite often desk and portable radios - which you buy in bulk and get branded with your logo or whatever.
I don't know if you'll find one which can specifically rig the FM radio to be stuck on one station, but you can always ask around. I'd imagine that other radio stations have at least considered having something like that themselves. At the very least you can get your stations logo and frequency printed on it and there are all sorts of models of radio to choose between from sleek little iPod shuffle-like portables to funky pose-able desktop characters with the radio built into their head. Just make sure it can at least scan the frequency that your station broadcasts on otherwise it might be a bit of an embarrassing non-promotion.
Incidentally, does your radio do internet broadcasts as well? I've noticed a lot of radio stations releasing custom apps to listen to their station on your computer or iPhone. Might be something to consider if you do.
