My GF and I are going to take a two night trip to Portland, Oregon. We be getting there on Saturday and leaving on Monday.
Any suggestions are welcome, especially in the nightlife/social scene/cool locations department. Bars and lounges are fine, but we would look at relaxed intimate environments in that case, sort of like what you can find on capital hill. Hotel suggestions are welcome too.
I have been there before but was much younger and with parents.
Besides going to the coast and Astoria, I was thinking of maybe using Sunday to go to Crater Lake.
Thanks in advance.

Voodoo Donut. Great for when youve been drinking. Google will be able to give you directions. Driving to crater lake and back in a day is going to be an all day adventure, with lots of time cooped up in the car.
Also if you want fun dinner, show and dancing I'd recommend the greek cusina http://www.greekcusina.com/ Its real fun, slightly spendy but not too bad. Had dinner there for a friends birthday and it was a blast.
I haven't been to Greek Cusina myself but friends that have liked it a lot. Might as well put that on your list!
Mt. Hood - Timberline Lodge and Multnomah Falls are less than an hour and a half from Portland. Is that interesting at all? If you go to Multnomah Falls go on the old scenic route going there and come back on the highway.
Huber's - very old bar/restaurant, small, popular, dress slightly less casual
McMenamins - several bar/restaurant + sometimes a movie theater + sometimes a hotel, some are hippyish but still okay for normal people to go into
Portland City Grill - view from the tall building in dowtown, go at lunchtime if you want to see the view
Rocky Butte or Powell Butte (which one is it guys?) gives you a pretty interesting view of Portland in my opinion
If you guys like books at all, check out Powells. It's basically a massive bookstore that takes up an entire city block. The atmosphere is awesome. I can get lost in there for hours, and they have a pretty nice coffee shop too. Its pretty much my favorite place on the planet.

The trip to Crater Lake, besides taking up literally your entire Sunday, will also end with icy roads covered in about six feet of snow. The one time I went was in late March, and they still had snow up to my waist. I'd suggest leaving Crater Lake for another trip.

These are pretty average recommendations..
