Hi Folks. I'm heading to a Eurotrash party tonight, and I'm planning on dressing up for it. The standard thing that pops into my mind is loafers, tight jeans, a too-tight t-shirt or button down with the sleeves rolled up, gelled up hair, and huge designer sunglasses. I tend to associate this look mostly with Italy or maybe France.
However, I'm really, really Scandanavian looking, blonde hair, blue eyes, kind of sharp features, and my glasses have this cool post-modern patterning on them, so I was also considering something more like... well, I have this image of a really pretentious german or swedish guy hanging out in a cafe talking about Kant. I'm having a hard time figuring out what that would look like, though, and it needs to be distinct and identifiable.
So if anyone has any tips on either route, I'd love to hear them. I'm going to try to make a trip to the salvation army later today, so I might be able to acquire some specialty items.

Other than that I don't think there is a specific stereotype of Northern Europeans dressing up as pretentious twats, the stereotypical image is that of a bulky guy with a big beard and a big wool sweater.
touches on the more "Mediterranean" look you mention. For something more... nordic... try more of a tight pants, patent leather books, tight white/black/grey/lime t-shirt. probably ribbed. buzz your hair or spike it up. Big white sunglasses. or small mirrored ones. Think Dieter on the juice at a discotech. say things like 'iz awesome, yah?' watch some swedish chef for inspiration.
