I took my PS3 home yesterday and tried to hook it up to the network. I've set up a laptop and my Wii without issue, but the PS3 times out when trying to obtain an IP address. I haven't powercycled the router yet. I'm hesitant to downgrade the security on the router. I'm using a D-Link wireless router, but I don't have the product number here at work. Has anyone encountered a similar issue? It detects my network with 100% signal strength.
It took me a good amount of time, but I ended up manually setting it an IP address and reserving a DHCP session with my router. It was more difficult than I was anticipating, but I'm up and running now.
If possible, run cable to it. My PS3 (and what I hear, other peoples' as well) get shit connection for some reason with wifi. My store downloads and online games have really high latency issues, that mysteriously disappear when I connect a cable.
Seeing as how you are asking advice about wireless, and it seems you went through a lot of trouble, wired isn't really an option, so just ignore my rambling.

How do you DHCP configured? Maybe try assigning your PS3 mac address to a set IP address.
Seconding the bolded part, I used wireless with my PS3 until I ran the cords through the walls.
I'm going to go ahead and blame the D-Link though, as I hate their products. :P
Can trade TF2 items or whatever else you're interested in. PM me.
I tore my hair out for ages over it.
Twas a belkin n+ wireless router.
