This is something I kind of need a quick answer to, but I couldn't seem to find any good answers on google. I happen to have a big bottle of safflower oil and I was planning on using it as a massage oil for valentine's day. It's just that immediately following the massage we will probably get intimate. Does anyone know if safflower oil has any negative effects on vaginal chemistry or something of the sort?
I mean, it's no big problem, I'd just have to be more careful while giving the massage and take a shower before any sex, but it would be much more convenient if I didn't have to worry about it.
It seems it can be used as a primer for other oils too, specifically some that are used for sensual massages. I stand by my earlier comment. You'll be fine.

not a doctor, not a lawyer, examples I use may not be fully researched so don't take out of context plz, don't @ me
I'd be careful if you're going to be using a condom just because I know you're not supposed to use oil-based lubricants (baby oil, etc.) with a condom as it can break the condom down and cause it to tear.
I was reading "The Guide to Getting It On" and they mentioned using vegetable oils as lube was okay as long as it was fresh. I'm not sure how you'll use it exactly but I just figured I'd throw in my two cents. Have fun

^ Important info.
Various manufacturers of personal lubricants sell massage lotions that are water-based gels that are approved for use with a condom. Many of them are also scented with flowers like lilac or lavender so that your girlfriend won't end up smelling like a salad later. If you don't mind spending a little money, I'd suggest going this route for those two reasons.
I would recommend www.kamasutra.com (Probably NSFW), they have a lot of water based lubricants and massage stuff, and a lot of edible kinds too. It's a little pricy though.
Using edible oils is fine for massage. If you want it scented add some citrus/aromatic oil (like orange oil or clove oil) or slice open a few vanilla pods and let soak.

If you decide to go this route. You pretty much must have a non-latex based birth control option. Also put down a couple layers of sheets on the bed that aren't your two million thread count Egyptian cotton.
I see nothing wrong with using the safflower oil, but be aware that your bodies are going to become highly lubricated glistening slippery masses. This is all good times, don't get me wrong, just make sure to put down some protection. After all the fun has passed, toss the sheets in the laundry and have a good scrub down in the shower. You'll still feel slightly oily after, but not "stain the sheets" oily.
If you have a small glass or metal bowl, warm it first in hot water, dry it off well, and add the oil. You can also put it on an electric heating pad to keep it and the oil comfortably warm. Just make sure you shut it off again. And don't spill the oil on the electric heating pad.
Have fun, supper slick happy time is awesome.

The issue with most of these suggestions is that I'm on a pretty strict budget, and I happen to have safflower oil on hand, I have a guide to massage that mentions it as a good substitute for something more expensive, I was just worried about anything wrong going on down there. I did drop by a sex store but everything they had there was prohibitively expensive/embarrassingly gaudy and strong-smelling. The safflower oil doesn't seem like it has too strong of a smell, might that be a problem?
Thanks for the heads up that it's messy, though, I'll make sure to put towels down. I also don't have to worry about the condom issues (been dating for 3 years and she's on the pill, I'll be glad if I never have to use one again).

<----Famous Last Words.
If you are really intent on this, i'd say put some towels down, and go light. A little will go a long way. Unless you are intending on massaging lower areas with a heavy dose of oil, take a moment to scrub your hands well with soap and at least warm water and then get back to business.

I think stretching to some sort of oil that isn't borrowed from the kitchen would go down better in most cases... :P
If your gf is prone to UTIs you might also want to clean off beforehand as well.
That's all I can think of

Can trade TF2 items or whatever else you're interested in. PM me.
Unless the phrase "it puts the lotion on its skin" comes into your roleplaying, no. :P
Lotion is for dry skin - oil is for fun.

And to reiterate: oils + condoms =

...wait, actually having a massage most of those places would not be awesome.
