I'm thinking about getting my CCNA. This would imply, of course, taking the ICND1 exam and getting my CCENT first.

Has anybody taken this exam? How much does it cost to take it? How difficult was it?

Also, Wikipedia says that taking a course is a prerequisite to actually taking the exam? Is that true? I'd rather just self-study. Fuck classes.

every person who doesn't like an acquired taste always seems to think everyone who likes it is faking it. it should be an official fallacy.

the "no true scotch man" fallacy.

There's no prerequisite. Study, then take it. It's really not that hard of an exam. Just make sure to have a firm grasp on subnetting and associated stuff. It seems to be one of the hardest things to grasp, at least for me. If you have no previous router experience, it is worth it to either invest in a couple of cheap routers (2500 series or so) to practice on. Unless you want to run Dynamips and emulate them. That is a whole nother can of worms, though.
