I think I've figured it out. Next game console craze? Come up with a halfassed barely plausible way to get a few consoles without waiting, then charge people thirty bucks for it, and advertise the hell out of it. I'd definitely make more money than if I went out and flipped them.
When are these "pay me money to learn how to make money" sites ever going to even branch away from the same design? At least he didn't highlight for emphasis with yellow text and include photos of luxury homes but jesus. I bet they're all made by some little old guy in south florida.
edit: you know what? i don't want that guy to make even one sale because of my post. you can find the site if you look hard, but I'm just gonna post the quoted text WITHOUT a link to his crappyass page:
Here's what I did to get 51 PS3 60gb consoles the day of the launch . I didn't stand in line or pay $2000 a piece for them. I paid just $200 above retail (799.00). And sold them all for $1,500 that's $700 profit per unit for a total of $35,700
Plus on Black Friday I'll buy another 178 that I'll be selling for $1400+ per unit. All together over the holiday shopping season I will have bought and sold more than 340 units. With each PS3 bringing in a profit of $500+, I'll clear over 100,000 in profit in a little over 6 weeks.
All this without waiting in one line & the most I'll pay is just $200 over retail.
And, NO I don't have some secret wholesaler list to sell you. Stuff like that is just a scam. I just use a simple system to by-pass the long lines and get my hands on PS3's, and sell them for profit.
So how was I able to get my hands on 51 of the hottest gamming units? The same way that the savviest of power sellers on eBay did. I used the NO Line System .
Get A PS3 For Just $200 Above Retail With My NO LINE System
You Don't have to wait in line.
You Don't have to put your name on some wait list
You Don't pay super inflated prices on eBay
You Don't have to win it on some radio contest.
You Don't fill out fake online surveys that promise a free PS3 if you complete it.
When You Use The No Line System You Simply Pay $200
Above Retail and You Can Virtually By All The Units You Want.
Unlike other websites
I'm Not going to send you a bunch of links to foreign websites where you can maybe buy a Japanese version of the system for $1,000. My system shows you how to get US version for just $200 above retail, without waiting in line in the cold.
Here's what I'm going to show you.
Exactly How I bought 51PS3's on launch day at $800.00 a piece.
sold them all for $1,500 clearing over $35,000 in one day.
How I Will Buy Another 178 PS3's on Black Friday (The day after thanksgiving November 24 2006) using my same proven system.
And finally…
How over the holiday season I will buy over 340 Clearing a profit of over $100,000 if they all sell for at least $1500.00 a piece. Even if the price drops, witch I doubt, I'll still be sitting pretty with over 100K in profit! All in a little over 2 months.
Don't Be The Only Loser Who Couldn't Get A PS3!
Now you may not want to buy 200 PS3's to sell for profit like I did. That's cool, the No Line System still can show you how to just get one for a gift without all the hassle that go along with waiting in line or paying the crazy inflated prices on eBay.
But I'm betting that once you learn the No Line System and you see why it's just as easy to buy 1 as it is to buy 10 or 100. You'll be buying more than just one.
So What Is the no line system?
It is a surprising simple process that I created to bypass the long lines whenever a hot product is about to launch. I actually used the same No line system last year when they launched the Xbox 360.
The internet gives me a native +2 bonus in Craft (Disturbing Mental Image).
The thing is... no one is paying $2000. The media hyped "$2500+!!!" and people are now thinking that's what these are going for. They aren't. Most of the high bids are being placed by people with new accounts and no intention of buying. They are really selling in the $800-900 range.
That's right. Someone waited 40 hours in poor weather to make $300. Maybe (because there is that guy who tried to sell two on Craiglist for $5000 and ended up getting robbed and beaten).
Yep... I have yet to see anyone say "I sold a ps3 for retail+$xxx" and actually got paid
All people can point to is a list of 'completed' ebay auctions... which is just poo.
And if you did spend $1200 on a ps3, i hope you think its worth it.
Oh, and lol at all the people who scraped together $599 they didn't really have in the thinking they will sell for $2000+ , i hope you realize the folly of your ways now. Sure, you can sell it for retail on ebay, but after the fees, you actually LOST money.

What about the 30 day no quibble returns thing that EB (I think) do? Or did they stop that for PS3s?

Sort of pathetic, on a sad, disappointing level.
If Sony doesn't like it and thinks it's hurting PR, maybe. just maybe, next time they should actually launch some units.
$2000 is a lot to pay for just one game.
And that's not even counting the cost of the game itself.
People are stupid.
