The old lady got me an Atari Jaguar for my birthday. I've got Cybermorph, Zool 2 and Checkered Flag. I plan on picking up Tempest 2000 and Alien vs. Predator. Are there any other games for this I should get? I don't have the CD attachment, though I am on the look out.
Of course, I loved the PC version and I was 12 at the time, so who knows what its like now. If you can find it tho, I seriously doubt it'll disappoint.

Cannon Fodder is the correct answer. I used to swap my friend for my SNES just to borrow it. Then it came out on Genesis...
I was a bit disappointed with Aliens vs. Predator. The Marine campaign plays great, but the Predator and Alien are just too difficult to control. Still good overall, though.
I really got into Hover Strike. The controls are a little wonky, but once you get used to them it's pretty fun. Iron Soldier is good, too, if a bit slow.
Wasn't there some kind of sidescrolling shmup that's supposed to be decent on the Jag?
You're probably thinking about Trevor McFur. It's not as bad as people make it out to be, but it's not great either. If you can find it cheap it's worth it just to see pictures of people with lion heads photoshopped over their faces.
You know, I think that's the only horizontal shooter on the system, unless you count Defender 2000.
I always thought the Jaguar version of Rayman played the best, but the Saturn version and the following Playstation version had better graphics.
Looking at the Jaguar list, I also like I-War, though it had a bad habit of crashing on me. Flip-Out and Attack of the Mutant Penguins were fun little puzzle games, too.
Seconding this but be warned it's a slow paced mech game. If you're used to the Armored Core series you'll probably feel like you're piloting a mechanical snail. Anyway what could be cooler than a giant mech with a chainsaw?
I'm actually starting to miss my Jag thinking about it.
Edit: Stay away from Kasumi Ninja. The only good thing I can say about it is that it has a Scotsman that shoots fireballs from under his kilt.

The code for infinite ammo is 2-7-2-8-3-7. Fun times to be had with the nuke.

Kasumi Ninja is hilarious for the camp stereotypes and buckets of blood. It's well worth the price it's going for. The amount of color makes the graphics look pretty nice, even though the animation is limited to Mortal Kombat 1 levels. The sad thing is that Atari had a lot of ambition for this game and a lot of features had to be cut back for budget reasons. There was originally going to be a substantial first person RPG/maze element, but all that was completed was the character selection room.
I used to play this game called Dino Dudes: Evolution for the Jag. I loved that game so much (mainly for the music). Its basically a puzzle game. You start as primitive humans and you have to use your basic tools and your tribe to overcome whatever obstacle you are faced with. Its pretty neat when you lose because you see a monkey drive away in a car because they were the ones that evolved.
I also used to play the hell out of theme park for the Jag. I got it on PC but I couldn't get the days to slow down so my most memorable moments are on the Jag. A game to stay away from though: Syndicate. That game is awful.
Ahhh, I asked for the jaguar for christmas. She got it but I found out (saw an ebay email in her inbox), got excited and thanked her before christmas for the jaguar. My birthday was about a month later so she just hid it until then.
When it first came out though, the latest and greatest system was the SNES/Genesis. As for why anyone would want one now, I imagine it would be more of a nostalgia thing then anything else.

I used to enjoy Doom on it, and Wolfenstein but there are better ports nowadays.
I did love the Jaguar and it's ridiculous pad though:

God Jaguar ads were funny way back then.

Raiden isn't arcade perfect. It decent on it's own, but the best version was on PS1.

Saturn, I thought.

Wait, what?
Did they misread the topic as "cougar recommendations?"

For a second i mistook the topic as OS X 10.2 recommendations. Which would make slightly more sense.

Edit:
I think it was the recommendation that any girl who's geek-savvy enough to buy her boyfriend a Jaguar needs to be given a ring. :P
Because if that was "cougar recommendations", yeah, step 4 sure as hell isn't marriage. :winky:
Can trade TF2 items or whatever else you're interested in. PM me.

That was Brutal Sports Football. The only reason I didn't recommend it was because it only ran at, like, 15 fps. It was still very fun, though.

o_O huh? Normally I would take such a statement as a joke, but given its obscurity in this conversation I must ask; wha?
Absolutely serious. Prince is a weird guy too, so as strange as it sounds it actually could happen.
