Hella weird Ventrilo problem

So, when I use Ventrilo, there's one particular person who, when she speaks, starts off sounding fine, but then within a second the voice degrades into static and mumbles. I'm the only one hearing this; everyone else in the room hears her just fine, no problems. I can hear everyone else in the room just fine, no problems. I have no modifications on for this person. I've tried re-installing the latest version of Ventrilo, and it keeps doing it. What the fuck?

I don't think so. Even if she were, though, why would that affect just me?

try turning down your inbound... even just a notch or two. I had that problem with one or two specific people, and that fixed it.

    Edit: Also, "hella?" really?

I'll give it a shot. Did you turn down your overall inbound, or just the volume with those specific people?

And yes, "hella." I'm originally from NorCal, and it's a fucking great word. Do you see me criticizing the word "jawn" or the linguistic abominations you use to describe sandwiches? No? Then shut the hell up. :P

I'd try turning her down first, and if that doesn't work turning the entire thing down.

I use a mac and can't seem to adjust individuals, so I just turned down the whole shebang. It was like magic, really, because it was just one girl who I hadn't been able to hear for like, a year, and then suddenly, fixed.

My apologies... although, I don't know what a jawn is.

    Dawn of Jews?

Have you tried messing with the person-specific filters and whatnot? I used to have to put some people at 300% volume before I figured out normalizing.
