Dreamcast, trying to sell it...

How much is it worth? I've got the Dreamcast system, 3 controllers, 2 regular memory cards and the memory card with like, 5 "pages" (Which is like 5 memory cards.) and all the hook ups. It's a 2000 model so its "unlocked" or whatever if you know what i am talking about. I wish i didnt have to sell it but im in a tight spot for money.

So, what are they going for these days? What is it worth? Its in basically mint condition and it doesn't get used as often as it used to and has mostly just been gathering dust. Kept in a smoke free home and i take extremely good care of all my gaming equipment.

I don't see you getting more then 30 for it. Probably the most you will get.

Thats what they are selling around for on ebay

Bought one on half.com for about $37 with shipping, but only one controller. I could have probably shopped around... Maybe you could put it there?

Really that low? I guess the system isnt all that loved. I dunno if its worth me selling it if its only that much. It was hard for me to find to begin with.

Yeah, you might want to hold onto it until maybe a few more years when people start getting that collector's bug. Plus the economy isn't all that great right now, so people aren't spending money.

Save it. Unless you really, really need the money.

I dunno I think the reason a lot of people bought their dreamcast was because they got everything on the cheap a while back. I had one with like 40 something games, and I loved it but I know I didn't spend anywhere near 100 for it.

If you really wanna get something for it, wait a while longer like others have said for it to actually become more of a collectors item.

No one cares about the system, what they care about are the games. Last year, almost exactly a year ago actually, I sold my Dreamcast for $138. Of course, I had soul calibur, shenmue, soul reaver, and a bunch of other "top games" for the system, 4 controllers, some VMUs or whatever. So most of the money was people actually buying the games.

And, without looking, I'd imagine that's what people are still looking for on eBay -- specific games. So if someone is looking for Soul Calibur, they're going to get a dreamcast that comes with the game.

But yeah, the system by itself isn't worth much -- especially on eBay, where you have to pay shipping for the system and then track down games in addition to it.

I've got a Dreamcast collecting dust (:(). To be honest, they aren't worth anything at all. I'm sure someone would want one, but they wont pay anything. Consider that a PS2 at EB Games second hand is like $50-$100 (Australian $$$). Dreamcast was a failure, small lineup of games. i wouldnt think you would get much. It's probably not worth selling, unless you never play it, and are desperate for some cash.

BTW, I bought mine launch month in Australia, i spent $400 for the system, $50 for second controller, $30 for memory card, and a few more $100's for games. That could be the reason i wouldn't sell it. invested too much money into it :)

Well i do have a few games, i just need to find them as they are packed away. I have Crazy Taxi, Jet Grind Radio, some weird flying snowboard sort of game i cant remember. Phantasy Star Online, and Sword of the Berserk.

Just not sure where they are right now in all the packing boxes.
