I did get a BOC with $5 shipping that came in a box that was easily 12 cubic feet. That must have cost them more than 5. They also ship lawnmowers and speaker systems. They probably make money overall, but I doubt they make that much on shipping. Or the items themselves really. I bet the profit margins are fairly small.

Wouldn't surprise me if a large chunk of their actual profit came from ads.
I'd bet that shipping $0.01 mechanical pencils and 40" TVs for five bucks evens out in the end, and their profit comes from a combination of ads, getting their merchandise for dirt cheap (most of their stuff isn't priced too far below MSRP, and as a liquidator they're paying peanuts for it), and sheer volume (they move a lot of merchandise in a Woot-Off)

How do you buy 3 at a time? I never saw a "quantities" field.

After you click "I WANT ONE" and it takes you to the shipping/billing screen there will be a white box on the left hand side. At the top of said box it will say "You want One", with 2 boxes next to there that say "I want Two" and "I want Three".
Why did this one start late? I always thought Woot-offs replaced basically a day of normlal Woot.
Anyways, nothing yet. Glad that this is right after a paycheck rather than when it usually seems to be at the end of a pay period when I'm starving for cash. Gonna keep an eye out for Christmas presents and hopefully a cheap good computer to replace my crappy fossil.
