I like watching Woot-offs, but since they don't ship to Canada (COME ON, LONGEST UNDEFENDED BORDER IN THE WORLD, WE'LL PAY, I SWEAR IT, WE'RE GOOD FOR IT, WE'RE CANADIANS, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD), it's mostly just for the fun of it.

I mostly just watch too. I've almost bought stuff a couple times, but I haven't taken the plunge yet.

And, people still make vibrating football tables? I thought those were like a product of the 70s.

Hahaha did anyone else catch that?

The Philips 47” HDTV had a display picture of a duckling, and the thing's been sitting up there for a good hour it seems. Now that it's almost gone, they replaced the picture with a nice display of a roast duck. Glorious.

    Grabbed ET:QW off it.

If memory serves, they did this as a side deal a week or two ago as well, not quite this cheap, but hey.

And I'd venture to guess the average user age is 15 years older over on woot.

Hmm, can I finish dling the COD2 demo to see if it will run on my revA macbook, before they sell out?

Oh boy! Discovery Channel Kids Power Plastic Welder! Just what I've always wanted?

Edit: Why would they want kids to be welding plastic together? Sounds dangerous.

Man, when I was a kid and we wanted to almost start house fires, we left the Creepy Crawler oven on for a few hours. None of this plastic welding shit.

Doesn't sound like it's very dangerous, since it's just a little bit of friction that's generating low amounts of heat.

And anything that you "weld" can just be snapped apart.

I figure it'd be more like a slightly more solid version of legos/k'nex.

Fuck. It seems like there's one item that sits up there for minutes at a time, dawdling away, and then it's rapid fire two or three items that sell out in seconds. I'm assuming it's because there's only less than dozens of 'em, and it's all coincidence, but damn.

There it is again. Less than a minute since I refresh my browser and a TV has come up and sold out in one shot.

    ...D:

And I was going to actually sleep tonight.

    Fuck you Woot.

EDIT: I cannot actually believe that there is someone out there who thought this was a good idea. Unless it's got a little water-proof pressurized dome that snaps up and over stuff when it's not immedietly being accessed, and even then, still.

EDIT: And since we're talking gadgets and aids and shit, is there anything that'll do its damndest to alert me to the fact that shit just sold out or is on the verge thereof, like audio alerts and the like? That gadget's nice but since it sits behind everything I have a sneaking suspiscion it won't do me any good when I need it most.
