OK. I am hoping to get my hair trimmed/cut-ish sometime this week or next.

1) Here is my current hair (well, this were taken approx. a month ago, so it's just a teensy bit longer) (ignore the lemon, it was the best photo i could find):

2) Stipulation is that I want more of a trim than a cut, as I am trying to grow my hair out as much as possible, but it's been several months (read:since the beginning of december) since I have had a haircut of any sort and my hair is looking a bit...shapeless?

Anyway. I have had extremely short hair and it looks fine, but I just want to grow this ish OUT. It's been short for the last two years, and I am ready for a slow but steady change but I want to look cute along the way. So. Suggest away, please and thank you.

To be honest, I actually think it looks good the way it is.

    That's all I have to say :P

Maybe go to a stylist and ask them what they think will look good on you?

It looks fine, and a trim would probably take care of it if you're pleased with how your bangs are currently. In that one picture your hair looks very fine, so you could probably get away with just cleaning it up a bit.

The only thing you say is that you're trying to grow it out; you don't say if there's anything in particular that you're sick of with what you currently have (other than it being a bit formless since it hasn't been cut recently).

Have you thought about what you want to do with it when it's long? Bangs/no bangs?

Honestly, it looks good. You could get some layers/trim, but if you want it longer, let it grow :)

By just getting the ends trimmed it should give a bit more volume to your hair and make it seem less heavy. If you're growing it you wont want to cut it too short, perhaps try a product like root boosting spray/wax to make it appear less shapeless. Or use something like styling gum to flick the ends out to get the style like The Black Hunter suggested until its gets a bit longer.

Don't do one of those "disaster in the back" haircuts, for lack of the actual term for it. I think it already looks nice.

Yeah, I agree, a trim should do fine. You might be able to get a little more angle into the sides, but that might require taking too much hair off.

The bangs and everything look fine there, so cleaning it up should be all you really need to do, especially if you're planning on growing it out.

It looks pretty cute as is. For bonus point you could go for the layered look as mentioned, it'll add some texture, keep a lot of the length, and keep your hair from getting droopy and lanky as it grows (the weight of the hair will pull it down quite a bit, and you'll lose some of the lively bounce you have now). You'll probably want to scallop the back length as well, right now it looks like a straight horizontal line, and that will need a bit of bounce or curl as it grows- you've naturally rounded features, so wavy textures near the ends will compliment the overall look.
