Also, how is the Mini 9? Was thinking of getting one till I noticed that it's only got a 16GB hard drive. Yea, external hard drive and what not, but I don't feel like dragging an external harddrive around the house with me.

Well, what are you planning to do with it? It's been great little device for me. Don't forget that it's also got a built-in card reader, and you can snag a 16GB SDHC card for around $25 online.
I've got the 8GB Mini and it's been fine for me, but I mostly use it to surf the net.
You can (when they have them in stock) pick up a compatible 32GB SSD for ~$100 online, and installing RAM or an SSD is a snap with the Mini.
im gonna use it for doin some web stuff and muckin about when i really don't feel like sitting at my computer. will be nice in the summer since i only have AC in my bedroom and the rest of the house is like 200 degrees

Well, I just wanted a something for school and my evening courses. I have my regular desktop I use for gaming, music, etc, so I wanted a laptop or netbook for mobile use. I didn't read that it had a built-in card reader so this might actually be the selling point for me now. I was looking at the Mini 12.

I managed to grab mine from Dell's outlet website for ~$260, which isn't too bad, though it didn't have the built-in Bluetooth. It also came with XP installed, but I wiped it off and threw Ubuntu onto it instead. It works fine after a few minor tweaks. There's a couple really great resource websites if you're planning to install Ubuntu or something besides XP on it if you're interested.
Yeah, it's got a card reader capable of reading SD, SDHC, MMC, and Memory Stick media.
As long as you're not planning to install any huge programs on it it should suit you just fine, even at 16GB. I've still got around 4GB free on mine. Music, movies, and whatnot are all either on my portable HD and documents and pdfs and stuff are auto-synced to my desktop via Dropbox.
