    Not going to anime cons has been a highlight for my life. I hope to not go to anime cons for many, many years. I treasure the time I don't spend with the people I haven't met there.

    "oh, a convention is a place where you pay to get inside so that you can pay for more things while wading through a sea of despicable malcontents"

    Went to Wizard world east in Philly once. The sea of despicable malcontents was actually everyone in a 5 mile radius outside of the civic center.

    Back when I was in high school, taking my lifeguard certification course with the Red Cross, there was this guy in the class who appeared to be a totally normal dude and was fairly athletic and socially normal

    and then one day we're getting ready to practice some rescues in the pool and I overhear him remark that he was taking his girlfriend to Animazement next weekend and he was hoping they would lose their virginities to each other on this trip

    it was... odd

    Man, I can't find it-- there was an article about some lady repeatidly calling 911 about a riot going on in the next town over.

    The "riot" was actually a mini suburban gay pride parade thing and they had said that she made 7 calls, each one becoming more harassing than the previous. I can't find it anymore though. :(

    Some girl in my bio class a few years ago like, planned her life around the anime north convention. She regularily came to class with anime comics to read.

    A shame, she wasn't bad looking.

    i know a couple of people that used to sew dresses and stuff for that
