So, I just got this new wireless router. Ever since it was hooked up, I get annoying lag spikes in CSS. Every couple minutes, my frames will lock for about 1 second, everyone will warp somewhere else, and many times I will also be dead. Never had any problem like this before the router.
I tried port forwarding, im thinking I'm doing it wrong. Would it be possible to hook my computer up to be in front of the firewall, connected straight to the modem?

You can connect straight to the modem, but then you won't be using your router or sharing the internet connection with your household.
You can also try setting your computer in the DMZ on your router settings (This opens all ports and turns off all firewall protection to your comp) - the point of this is to see if you have any firewall / port issues. This is relatively unsafe to be using for long periods of time.
Another thing you can try is updating your wireless network card's drivers (go to your card manufacturer's website and find updated drivers for the model. Try google if you can't find it.
Also you can try updating the Firmware for your router which also can fix issues. I know my friend had issues staying connected to World of Warcraft wirelessly until he updated his firmware.
Also, you're likely going to need to edit any Firewall settings on your computer for allowing ports and Steam and CS. Windows XP Firewall and any others if you have them.
