I was curious on what was the first console multiplayer FPS. Everyone I know claims that it was rare's Goldeneye, but i was curious if there was maybe a less known game that cma ebefore this giant.
I've never heard anyone seriously claim Goldeneye was the first. The first hit FPS on the consoles, I've heard, but it's no where near the first. I'd guess most likely Doom as well.

Doom wasent multiplayer on the SNES or the N64, I have no idea of ports on other consoles.
On the N64 at least Hexen was a multiplayer FPS and came out before Goldeneye/Quake1&2/Duke Nukem 64, but I'm sure there was something on an earlier console.
Nowhere even close to being first. The first MoH game released for the PS1 came out in 1999. Doom for the PS1 was out in '95 (but I'm not sure if it had multiplayer), and Descent for the PS1 was out in '96 (and it did have multiplayer). I think Faceball was the first multiplayer FPS on a console. 1991 for the Gameboy (up to 16 players via link cable), and 1992 for the SNES (two player split screen). Check it out.

Edit: Yea, it looks like one of the Doom releases may be the first.
