So I bought a bunch of things from GOG.com, and I wanted to burn them to dvd so I can move it to the computer thats connected to the web through clearwire from the laptop connected to the cable internet.
So I got the dvd in, I choose to burn with Nero burning rom and have it set to dvd and have everything added and it burns for close to 45 minutes. Then all I get is a blank disk. I have tried this with 2 different dvds and its starting to work my last nerve.
I had this problem once...it was when the laser died in my old DVD burner...thats probably what it is. I remember it said it burned things, but when i took the disc out, it was warm but still blank.
FUCK! So, how hard are those things to replace, I mean, dime a dozen, no brainer piece that requires little action on your part and would only cost me $50 in man hours to get replaced, right?

Just buy a burner, they are in the range of $40 or so, they are super easy to replace yourself. It's just a couple wires and 2 screws, they even come with instructions on how to install it if you get lost. So yeah, not expensive.

You can probably get them even cheaper than that, I think if you look around you can get one for around $20.
Wearing out burners isn't unusual at all. I'm on my sixth. Grab a new one and stick it in. It's pretty simple to replace a burner, even the most inept of my friends can do it successfully.
In case you care, LG is the brand that seems to last the longest for me. Memorex died the quickest.
