New PS3, controller not working wirelessly

I bought a PS3 today. I brought it home, popped in GTA4 and played for a few minutes (both wireless and wired) and decided to update the PS3. After the update, I can no longer use the sixaxis controller wirelessly. I have tried resetting it and restarting the PS3 with no luck. Google is no help. Any ideas before I bring it back?

I'm retarded and figured it out. I hadn't turned off the PS3 when I thought I had. It works fine now.

Yeah you probably just needed to re-sync it.
I think pads lose sync if the system is entirely off (no red light), as in you can't turn the system on with them. I'm not sure if they sync back up once the system is on again, but either way a rule of thumb is if a pad stops working, plug it in to re-sync.

I have to say, I love the PS3's system of 'hey, just plug it in' as opposed to the 360's sync button doodad.
