Updated Drivers giving mixed results

So back in November I downloaded the Left 4 Dead demo and it was giving me errors and someone pointed me in the direction of Omega drivers. Those fixed playing the demo and everything else worked fine. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago, I finally decide to buy orange box. I go to play TF2 and it tells me that my drivers aren't up to date... well I figured that's because I'm using 3rd party drivers. I decide to just get the most recent official drivers. TF2 doesn't yell at me, I think everything is hunky dory.

Except, after upgrading my drivers to the most recent ones, my 2 most played games, Stepmania/OpenITG and WoW now have a weird problem where it seems to skip frames. Like every second, it'll skip a frame which in a music/rhythm game, is not very good. For some reason if I have FRAPS turned on, it doesn't happen in WoW(or it's just not as often or as noticeable) but it still continues to happen with Stepmania/OpenITG. Both games worked flawlessly with the Omega drivers. On the other hand, one game that had problems rendering with the Omega drivers, works perfectly now with the new drivers.

Graphics cards is a ATI Radeon 9600 Pro

Is there any way to stick with these drivers and have everything work?
