We recently bought a 9800 GTX+, and after installing into onto the motherboard, we noticed a black 6 pin (2by3) connector that splits up into two white coloured 3 prong ends. They appear to fit into the four prong connectors for our power supply, but I'm sure if the 3->4 connection is a good idea. Do we plug the two 3 prong connectors into the 4-prong powersupply connectors?
Also, we have a black 6 prong connector on our supply that appears as though it'd fit into the graphics card. Would this work better?
Yeah you should use your black 6 prong connector (PCIE 6 pin) and plug it into the GTX+, not sure if you have the newer or older model...but if theres 2 connectors on the card and you only have the one 6 pin on your power supply, use the the white molex X2 to 6 pin PCIE adapter that came with the card.
