So.
Vista recognizes all the different speakers I plug in as seperate entities...

Is there any way to modify and switch around which apps send volume to which devices?

Apps like winamp are configurable in their own settings, but I don't know about your typical ones. Firefox will run on whatever is set as default when it's started up, even if that device is unplugged as far as I've been able to tell using my headset. Switching default devices would probably have the same effect.
Looking at the device mixer with both available definitely looks like there's a way to set it up though, maybe someone else will know.
