I have links on my website that open the linked page in the same browser. This makes it so you have to hit the back button to get to my page. I don't like this. I want those links to open a new browser or new page so that you don't have to hit the back button to get back to my webpage.. Im using Microsoft Publisher to make my page. How do I do this?

    <a href="example.htm" target="_blank">Example</a>

target="_blank" causes the link to open in a new window.

There are times when forcing links to open in new windows is a good idea, but if this isn't one of those cases users might not like that. Ultimately the choice is up to you, but you should keep that in mind.

Hmm interesting reads, thank you for those. I guess I will keep it to only PDF files. But some of the other links I have are to things like statutes and laws which are really boring and only there so people can see the laws, which I doubt many people will click.
