Crushing ice

Still going with the home bar type thing I've mentioned in other threads. Looking to easily crush ice into cocktail size chunks.

My blender doesn't do the job. Half the ice will still be in chunks, the rest will be like snow.

My question to you fine people is

Do these work?

Wouldn't the metal prongs just push the ice up and not force it through? These are about all I've been able to find. Here in Australia I can't find any electric ones.

Worth it or not?

Yeah...I want something a little more classy so to speak.

While I can go outside with a tin/tea towel and a hammer, I'd rather just get a machine.

    really? no one else?

I thought someone here would've known.

Thanks bsjezz. My bar book actually says to do the same thing.

Make sure you use the plastic bag not the towel. If you use a towel little bits of ice get stuck in it. and only the bigger clumps come out.

Also its easier to pour crushed ice out of a bag then a towel.

A canvas sack is actually great for this, it's sturdier than plastic & ice won't get stuck in it like a towel. Should last many years at least.
