Every year I lose horribly but this year might be different though I don't really expect it to be.
Will it be UNC? Duke? Pittsburgh? Kansas? Uconn? College of Charleston? Siena? Only time will tell.
Sign up fuckers! Even if you don't know college basketball you have a very good chance of winning. I almost always end up losing to someone who just completely guessed their way through the brackets.
i would join, but i forgot my espn login and i think its linked to my now-defunct school e-mail account. i'll probably sign up again after work, but cmon, yahoo fantasy sports is so much better than espn
I saw this the other day on TV, I kind of want to sign up and then just guess everything. I figure the way professional sports seem to go, I have almost as good a chance of winning as anyone who knows a lot about it.

The teams are all ranked. You have 4 groups ranked 1-16. A 16 seed has never beat a 1 and usually the 15 seeds all lost as well though they have won in the past. After that you usually get a 14 seed and a smattering of the other lower seeds get through.
It's basically luck. It's almost impossible to know where the big upsets are going to be.

i'm thinking just go by last year's tourney and have all the # 1 seeds advance to the final four. boring, i know. it'll probably be close to my usual strategery of all big east final fours the past few years, since three big east teams seem to have locks on the # 1 seeds
really the only sport I've ver cared for is football but because my uncle lives in chapel hill and went to UNC I sort of wanted them to do the impossible and not lose for an entire season.

not really impossible since it's been done a bunch of times

I thought it was just that one time, with Bob Knight's team.
My history on the subject is pretty much nonexistant, though, so I'm willing to believe that.

they were the last team to do it
ucla did it like 4 or 5 times in the 60s/70s
but yeah, you're right in the sense that it's probably impossible to do now
I think Stanford made it to the tournament with an undefeated record a couple of years back, but I don't think they made it to the title game. Illinois lost the last game of the regular season a couple of years ago also and lost in the title game. So there have been some close calls, but undefeated seasons tend to only happen on the women's side now, and they're becoming a bit more rare.

I hate Duke with the passion of a million burning suns and I honestly don't really know why.

bc going to dominate (by losing in the first round)

It's a total points game so I don't know if you can technically be eliminated in round one. I guess if you managed to pick every team wrong.
but it's almost impossible to win a good-sized pool without picking the right champion
picking early round upsets are nice, but you could get them all right but if two of your final four teams lose in the second round you're fucked
no i meant bc as in boston college
going to lose in the first round of the tournament most likely (though i hope not)
unless one of those teams is my gophers if they get in (nobody pick the gophers)
I got you. I misread your statement.
Somewhere deep down I want to say that Pitt is going to win it all but it just sounds so weird.

If Pitt didn't have a history of not making it past the Sweet 16 then I might pick them to win it all. But they do so I won't.

When they show up ready to play they're the best team in the NCAA. Unfortunately that just doesn't seem to happen every day.
