I'm only using the Kotaku info because IGN's site is terrible and doesn't load for me.
WayForward, the developers behind Lit and A Boy and His Blob, are working on a puzzle game for the upcoming launch of the DSi.

Mighty Flip Champs will be available through the DSi's download service as a DSiWare game.

In the game players control Alta as she warps through a stack of levels filled with mazes. Alta appears in the top screen in her current maze while the bottom screen previews the next maze. To make it through the game, players flip through the levels trying not to crush Alta as the world around her changes.

This sounds a lot like the premise behind Away: Shuffle Dungeon and Crush. I know a lot of people here have love for WayForward (Contra IV, the Boy & His Blob Wii project, Lit on WiiWare), and this is the first real news I'm hearing about developers working on Western DSiWare releases. There's no timeframe mentioned, but I'm all jazzed about the possibilitys of downloadable DSiWare, so this sounds very promising.

I thought so too, but apparently no one else did. :(

I'm anxious to hear more about the DSiWare lineup; there have been some really cool-sounding games from the JP launch of the service.

So this is what that WayForward newsletter was hinting at. Looks like it could be a lot of fun. Unfortunately I'd be more interested in it if it was for a system that I intended to own (I really don't want to spend nearly $200 rebuying a slightly enhanced version of a system I already own).

Well fuck WayForward, you may have forced me into purchasing a DSi.

Bah, if that was all it took then you probably would've gotten one anyway. :P

Well, the only selling point of the DSi to me was DSiWare, and I was waiting for a killer app to come along and seal the deal.

So far Mario-Themed calculators and Warioware minigames sold individually wasn't it.

But here it is, the killer app.

I wouldn't really say "killer app" since we know so little about it; I do think it looks cool, though.

Tinycartridge.com (part of 4cr) has a bunch of stuff on the Japanese DSiWare titles, and I haven't looked into them too much but they seem pretty awesome. Here's Utsusu Made in Wario, which is the camera-based Wario Ware game that no one is talking about but looks awesome:

    Utsusu Made in Wario

Art Style: PicoPict, which is described as a kind of mashup of Picross and a falling-block puzzler:

And Art Style: Somnium, which is a sliding block puzzle:

    Art Style: Somnium

The Art Style series (same branding as the WiiWare games) remind me of the BitGenerations titles. Somnium's sounds even remind me of Orbital.

Not to resurrect ancient posts or anything, but I can't find any coverage on this game. Is it worth 8 bucks?

They seem to rather like it - http://dsiware.nintendolife.com/reviews/2009/06/mighty_flip_champs_dsiware

And seriously, if I had the money, I'd totally create a website dedicated to getting prompt reviews for XBLA, XNA Community Games, DSiWare, WiiWare, Wii Virtual Console, and PSN. The mainstream review sites are downright pathetic in this area.
