FRAPS = CRAPS! Anyway to record voice and ingame sound?

So, I'm on Vista now and I thought it might help my recording problems. Well, it partly did. I can now record TF2 with In game audio, and I can talk to people with mic without them hearing my stereo mix. (That was the problem with XP.) Sadly my voice isn't in the video. I saw there is the voice_loopback 1 command, but that would make me hear my own voice all the time which isn't ideal.

Is there anyway to set this up? Feel free to ask questions, I can give lots of specifics.

Maybe I could use a 2nd program to record my voice only and smash em together in editing? Any program that can do this with a hotkey?

Thank a you so much.

Wouldn't Camtasia Studio do what you wanted?

Edit: Here's a link to a tutorial that will show you how to do so.

What are you trying to record with? Have you tried the Source Video Recorder?

I'm using FRAPS! Which I'm pretty happy with, plus I bought it, I'd like to avoid buying another thing. XD

But that does look mighty nice.

Also Source Recorder is cool, but I'd like to be able to do this with non source games too. (UT3 perhaps?)

Trying out the 30 day trial, so far it works great, I can record sound and my mic, HOWEVER! I cannot record games, if I use the fullscreen option when I hit the hotkey ingame it goes to the desktop, lame as hell. And this is Camtasia 6, that must be an older version because there is no New Recording Wizard. I guess I'll have to dig out Camtasia 5 or something.

I was able to record from stereo mix and the mic simultaneously when I recorded commentary for Spider-Waffle's 30 minute Half-Life speedrun. At the time I just used Sound Recorder and Audacity from different sources. Though I imagine if you're recording from stereo mix with FRAPS you can just record from the mic at the same time with Audacity, and mix it in later.

Profile -> Signature Settings -> Hide signatures always. Then you don't have to read this worthless text anymore.

Right right, do you think audacity has a hotkey for recording?
