    I'm looking forward to Earthquake mostly because Brad Bird is directing it.

    The Iron Giant is my favorite animated movie hands down though so I might be a bit biased.

    Also whoever said Monsters Inc. was the best Pixar movie is my new favorite person.

    The problem with most animation companies that aren't Pixar is that they generally treat CG animation as a shortcut over tradtional hand-drawn animation. Pixar just treats it as a different medium that requires just as much care and attention as hand-drawn.

    CG animated movies from Dreamworks and others aren't what you would call poorly animated. To the contrary, much of what they do is quite technically sound. But the problem is that it doesn't go anywhere beyond that. Their work is good enough for a movie, but never has the soul that Pixar animation does. I mean, a goddamned desk lamp with two hinges had more emotional range than the entire cast of Shrek.

    And don't even get me started on MoCap.

    So who is playing the dog? It sounded like Owen Wilson to me, but other people think it sounded like Seth Rogan. One person said Steve Zahn... and if that is the case then sign me up. I think Steve Zahn should be in every movie.
