Hey I am a big fan of the Penny-Arcade strip and psuedo artist. I have zero drawing talent, which is particularly annoying because I used to when I was younger. I do mostly basic graphic design stuff these days. Occasionally I embark on the colorizing project and have a few good ones to my name. One I just completed today I swear I grabbed off here. I don't want to show it around until I know the artist and give him proper props (his signature isn't on his work that I can see). So here is the picture, I also found it on Photobucket but didn't see a way to contact him (and no way to confirm if he was the original artist who had it there). I checked the threads around here but didn't see anything, it could have been a long time ago when I grabbed it for this purpose (haven't had photoshop for a while, been too busy).
I made that a short introduction as well since I am new here :P I will post some of my colorized projects here soon.
Also I noticed what appears to be "BY" written into the middle of the picture (pretty easy to see), that could always be a signature I guess but obviously not enough for me to find him on!

This is more of a Question Thread kinda thing, bub.
Also, I believe that piece belongs to Bog, if I'm not mistaken.
Thanks guys, here are my colorizations I mentioned. These are easily my best two. Nothing particularly fancy, but I am proud of them. The first one, of Captain America, earned me some kind words by the original artist, Francesco Francavilla. The second one was done for a contest on some forums, and for fun. If I recall correctly I either won or lost to someone who clearly got half the yellow pages to vote for him (it was like 4 lines of color or something, obviously not a legit entry lol!). [Oh and the first one was an ink sketch, the second one was I believe a piece of concept art that had been converted black-and-white for the contest].
So yadda, yadda, yadda. Here they are. Let me know what you think. As soon as I talk to TheBog, with his okay I will get the new one up as well!
I am looking for an artist who has painted a picture of children looking at a toyshop window at xmas at night?
I am looking for an artist, I think called Black, who has pained a picture of children looking into a toy shop window at night, possibly in victorin times or just after and at xams time I believe. I saw this picture once in a shop in the cotswolds and cannot find it or him. The picture is painted at night and very theatrical.
I don't know apparently I started something. I'm sure he like googled "looking for artist" and figured this was a good place to post?! At least my artist I was looking for was actually from here :winky:
I changed your thread title to something more appropriate, though feel free to change it further.
Also your signature is quite large and I'd suggest conforming it to what's stated in the rules thread (500x80 max) which is pretty standard across the forums.
I would have called it 'Drawing Colourisation' or 'Drawing Colorization'
Anyway, i like the colour on the Captain America illustration. I think the colours are appropriate and it looks natural. Though, i dunno about the same green value used for the truck and the soldiers... hmmm....
oh, i googled that Francesco Francavilla, that stuff is pretty sweet. I 'm pretty sure some of my batman comics have cover illustrations done by that artist.

Thanks for the title change! And sorry about the signature I just took my standard but got it changed to a much smaller one now.
Thanks for the kind words everyone. WinterCombatKnight: I know what your saying. I think at the time I wanted to keep colors very simplistic to keep Captain America the complete focus of the piece. But different shades of green might have worked well.
