Best beginner paint?

Hi, I recently got the bug to paint but am not sure which of the three to use. I really don't have much love for water colors, not a fan of the washed out / vagueness of it if you follow. Maybe I just haven't seen good examples but I was thinking of either acrylic or oil. I have a lot of painting supplies left from my dad and just don't know where to start.

I was also wondering if anyone knew what Gabe started with.

Thanks for any advice!

Acrylic would probably be the least frustrating medium to start with.

Also this does not need its own thread, take it the the Questions/Discussion thread which is stickied.
