i've been going out of my mind trying to find the name of a song from an episode of that old show tiny toons. from what i remember of the show, tiny toons episodes were sometimes comprised of two or more shorter episodes (vignettes?) in the old warner brothers cartoon style ala bugs bunny. buster & the gang were moving a piano from one part of the school to another and there was no dialogue or sound effects (except maybe at the beginning, again i don't remember 100%). again, ala old bugs bunny cartoons, the only audio for most of the piece was the song in question (appropos enough) a piece of piano music. to my untrained ear it sounds to be in the style of a mozart concerto but that's just a guess.

i've been looking for this song off and on for years but what brings it to the forefront of my mind is i recently caught the last few seconds of this song on our local pbs affiliate radio station. i immediately called the station and spoke to a meek young woman who had no idea what i was talking about and sounded on the verge of tears when i asked her repeatedly why she couldn't look up the log of music played and/or find someone who could.

i must be mis-googling because i have searched for "tiny toons piano" "tiny toons classical music" etc and just cannot find it. any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

That's really broad. Warner Bros has used a particularly wide catalog for Looney Toons and a lot of that has filtered into Tiny Toons. Fast, slow? Can you record yourself humming it or something? Can you find the Tiny Toons ep on youtube or something?

I can empathize, though -- I heard "le homme et une femme" in a piano rendition (no vocals) at some point, and not knowing what it was it got stuck in my head. This lasted for a few years, hearing it every once in a while, and I ran into it on The Simpsons of all places. In the Stampy episode, Bart gets an elephant but bugs the radio station "Where's my elephant!" and in one part, they cut him off by playing a snippet of a song. Of course, there's "elephant" all over it, so whenever I brought it up people would suggest it was "Baby Elephant Walk" which is, of course, an entirely different song.

You can hear what I'm talking about here: the organ part in the background. Ignore the YTMND, http://whereselephants.ytmnd.com/ but there is sound.

Anyway, it wasn't until I found that snippet, and then recorded off that particular part, and then posted it to numerous forums I was a part of when someone who had actually heard "le homme et une femme" said "oh yeah it's that piece." At that point I lost interest because the "normal" version has a man and a woman going "la la la la la" over the top of it. Alas.

edit: you guys are much more familiar with Tiny Toons than myself. Too bad I wasn't here when I had my problem above 7-8 years ago ;D

Hungarian Rhapsody #2 is the song Daffy Duck and Donald Duck are playing in the Ink n Paint club in Who Framed Roger Rabbit. It's apparently been used in several other Looney Toon cartoons.

Also in Rhapsody Rabbit, yeah, it's become a bit of a staple.

I remember that episode! Always nice to see Bugs get the bad ending.

I love classical music inserts in cartoons. I remember Tom & Jerry had a few of those. The Animaniacs too.

I remember another one with Bugs, I think it was the Barber of Seville, but don't quote me on that. I just remember that it had him and Elmer (maybe Taz).

    Found it: http://video.yahoo.com/watch/42703/964406

Hahaha. I remember learning this piece. It was introduced to me as "The Loony Tunes piano piece" They love their Hungarian Rhapsody 2.

The other Hungarian Rhapsodies aren't bad either. Liszt is a bitch to play, but fun.
