Computer goes to sleep, does not wake up.

Alright, I've got an ASUS M51Se notebook I bought in August last year. It's running Vista Ultimate and I use it for almost everything, from my animation work to just relaxing and gaming. Unfortunately in the last few days it's developed a rather nasty problem.

If it's constantly in use, it works fine.
When it goes to sleep, it freezes completely. Locked up and nothing short of a reboot brings it back. Left alone, the screen powers down like normal, then it wakes up about a half hour later, completely frozen.

Turned off the screensaver, deleted the hiberfil.sys and recreated it, turned off sleep for the hard drive. Chkdsk comes up clean, AVG does the same.
Recently added a second monitor for work, but that's the only hardware stuff I've messed with.
I just installed Nero 7.9, with Lightscribe. Uninstalled and will see if that helps.

Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit
Asus M51Se Notebook.
Core 2 Duo t8300 2.4ghz
ATI 3470
4gb Ram
250gb HD

Okay, computer's crashing in the middle of tasks now. Unfortunately this task is backing up my data to a portable disk.

Dug out some old ram and reinstalled those. Hope this works.

Try breaking down your data moving task in smaller ones (Instead of moving 4 gigs move 1 or 2).
