How sci-fi can you get with Nazis anyway?

Also, a July release date, eh? That means I know what I'm getting for my birthday!
GTTV confirmed no Hitler in this game. The user comments for the trailer make me wonder how well this game will sell though.
Sadly they've already confirmed there is no mecha-hitler in this game. Despite that. the game does look good though. I rather enjoyed RTCW, so I'll be looking forward to this.
More games need to let you kill Hitler. It's like the national pastime.
(Why this was somehow a problem for Persona 2: Innocent Sin's localization, who knows.)
Im hoping this changes that.
Link to the Past? Ocarina of Time? Soul Reaver? None of them tickled you?
My world has become confused and frightening.
I will still play it at some point most likely, but as of now there is nothing I'm seeing that is making me think "Day One".

RCTW was 1998/1999, wasn't it? And Doom 3 was like 2003.
Still, my fond memories of Doom/Wolfenstein consist of blocky geometry and flat sprites on a 3d plane. The Doom series ended at II (with the expansions) and Wolfenstein ended after RCTW. I love these games to death, but I wouldn't say id is capable of handling the IPs correctly anymore.

Either way the stills that were out awhile ago looked dates- but now that ive seen it in motion it looks a little bit better.
I just recently played RTCW for the first time and really enjoyed it. I skipped it and went straight to enemy territory. I'm hoping they pull off something new in this one.
So, I'm curious. What's with the sci-fi aspect in Wolfenstein games now? I liked it when it was all mechanical and took place in the old days with no sci-fi super weapon stuff. To me, sci-fi and Nazi's just don't go together. Despite what all those specials on the History channel would say about history.

I'm worried this will never be able to live up to how much i love ET, but if the multiplayer is decent (once a competition mod comes out) and has an active community this could easily consume several more years of my life, I don't know whether to be scared or excited by that fact
Edit:
Also, a July release is perfectly timed for when i graduate Will have mucho time to play this while i fail at finding a job!
Nope -
Just a little hint

Clearly Wolfenstein ripped both of those games off
The Nazi's did do a lot of occult investigations IRL. Why do you think it pops up in pop culture so much (Hellboy, Indiana Jones)
Also the original Wolfenstien had zombie monsters (Hell, you squared off against a demon to win the Spear of Destiny in the second Wolf game back in the day).
It's like asking if Doom 3 didn't already cover the demons from hell coming through teleporters.
It's kinda Wolf's thing.
Supporting evidence:
It's using the id Tech 4 Doom 3 engine though I guess technically it still their most recent engine until Rage comes out.
Yeah, it'd be cool if they kept the sci-fi, nordic gods crap out of this one. But, what would a good wolfenstein plot without some ridiculous stuff?
I was thinking the same thing, lacking polish it seem and something else.. The surroundings look good tho.
