This is kind of a strange problem, and I'm not sure what to do to fix it at all, so I figured I'd give it a try here.
I have a copy of Guitar Pro 5, a tablature editing program, and a few weeks ago it stopped working. Just out of nowhere, and I can't think of what I did. It acts like it is lagging really bad, and it takes up near 100% of my cpu when I run it. I tried it both as midi playback and as the realistic sound engine, but it wont work either way. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, and it still didn't work.
I also own power tabs, another program like it, and its been working just fine. All my midi playback on my computer works just fine, it's just that one program, and it doesn't work. So any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks
Its funny enough but I had this same problem a while back, and I later learned it was caused by a corrupted "dll" file, which I have no idea how that happened. Unfortunately, with Guitar Pro, you cant just reinstall since that program is so damn complicated to install, however about a week later I reinstalled the OS and then the program and that seemed to fix it, I dont know if thats worth it to you but might be worth a try.

We uninstall-reinstall doesn't work try cleaning up the registry of any signs of GP5 before reinstalling it
Like delete every single GP5 file or what?
No, not at all, that won't fix anything, at this point you might just have to reinstall the OS.
