Can't remember name of this game.

It was for the Sega Genisis.
I first played it in 1995.
It was similar to Gauntlet but there were more classes available (one example I can remember was a ninja). Your character could level up and get more powerful attacks.

It's been bugging me for years because I really liked this game and wanted to see if I could find it anywhere, but I can't seem to figure out what it was called. I want to say it contained 'chaos' or 'shadow' or something to that effect.

Please help!

Gauntlet 4 on the Genesis had a Quest Mode which included leveling-up your character.

Maybe The Chaos Engine? But there wasn't a ninja. Was this a fantasy game like Gauntlet, or was it in a sci-fi setting?

Could it be Dungeon Explorer for Sega CD?

Here are the classes: knight, monk, elf, mage, beast, and ninja

I think we have a winner!

I'll have to see if I can track down a copy to see if it really is what I'm thinking about.

    Thanks for the help.
