Alright, my career is confusing the hell out of me.
I am currently a student at Missouri at Columbia, where I am a Journalism major (and a freshman). What I think i'd like my goal to be, is a writer on tech stories, be they gaming or just general technologies, computing related most likely.
I listen to This WEEK in TECH and love it. My college requires Jstudents to take a sequence by Junior year, in my case, either newspaper, or magazine journalism, or "convergence," sort of a combo of all of it. That last seems the best idea, as it's quite a bit more internet centric.
So if I were to get a convergence degree, or a magazine degree, and wanted to work for say, Wired, or something like that, am I on the right track? Should I be getting computer classes in here too? Will Harris, John C. Dvorak, both those guys are pretty high up in the tech journalism/columnist industry. Am I on the right track?

Definitely go with the convergence degree if it covers more internet areas and the others rely strictly on print media. I can't believe your school would cover them that way, but if they do, you should do everything in your power to branch out.
You're confusing the hell out of me; explain how it is possible for one to be a student at Missouri but be a student at Columbia at the same time, is this not contradictory?
University of Missouri at Columbia. The Columbia part indicates where it's located. Usually when a school has more than one location it's indicated that way.
