Anyone else excited for X-Men Origins Wolverine?

I was very excited back when I thought that it was only for 360 and PS3.

...Then found out that it's super multiplatform. Wii, DS, PSP, PS3, 360, PC, maybe PS2 i'm not sure.

Huge turn off. I hate it when games do this. Any game that I put my trust in for still being good while being super multiplat has let me down. I'll see what happens with this one.

I love the idea of no censorship (fucking finally), lunging yourself at an enemy and ripping them to shreds in a DMC and GoW inspired manner, all while looking like a bad ass and sipping some powerade.

I hope this game delivers. Still pretty damn sure that Batman Arkham Asylum will kick the shit out of this though.

Multiplatform titles like that are often developed by different companies. The same people that do the 360/PS3 version won't work on the DS version, for example. There's plenty of room for at least one of the platforms to be good.

I kind of want to play a demo first, but then the premise of literally being able to tear guys to shreds as Wolverine is really quite tempting.

movie spinoff games are generally not worth bothering with, but theres a couple neat looking bits in this trailer. i would check out a demo anyway.

There's no way I'd even think about buying this until it has come out and I hear positive reviews from multiple sources. I mean, even setting aside the whole super multi-platform release scheme which tends to result in a shit game every time, there's the fact that this is a game based on a movie, which tends to result in a very high chance of shit.

Still, I can't help but be hopeful that this game defies the odds and is good, so I'll definately be watching for its release. I'm weak that way.

True, but if you think about it..if Metal Gear Solid 4 was on the ps2, wii, 360, pc, ds, psp, and ps3, you know the ps3 version wouldnt be nearly as good as the one we know.

Now I can watch them fuck up Deadpool while in the comfort of my own home, and with the DS and PSP version, on the go!

I guess, but why don't we compare apples to apples?

Other multiplatform superhero movie games: Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man 3, X-Men 3, Fantastic Four, Ghost Rider, Iron Man, Hulk.

Some were good, others not so much, and sometimes the handheld platforms fared better than their HD counterparts.

Other Marvel-licensed games by Raven: X-Men Legends, X-Men Legends II, Marvel Ultimate Alliance.

A solid track record. So while Wolverine isn't the same genre as Raven's previous Marvel outings, they've had some success.

seeing that this is being developed by raven and watching a couple videos definitely put this on my radar. not going to make any purchases until theres either a sweet demo or really good word of mouth, but still.

Indeed..but X-Men Legends, X-Men Legends II, Marvel Ultimate Alliance weren't movie-based games, so we'll just have to see.

Which is unfortunate, cause some of the stuff on there looks quite entertaining (if a player could do it)

The huge article about this in the last EGM really gave me some faith in it, as is the fact that it's being done by Raven.

Fuck the idiots that hate games just because they're based on movies. These are the kinds of pricks that never played Spider-Man 2, King Kong or Riddick.

Think the video was in the xbox marketplace somewhere for a behind the scenes of this game. I'm certainly excited. They were all set to release in the same time frame as the movie, the movie got pushed back by one year, they spent said year polishing the game up. That is certainly good news in addition to the vids I have seen
