okay so i have an old Wingman Attack 2 that windows xp is recognizing and installing the drivers for, but it doesnt respond whatsoever either in calibration or in games. It works on the other computer in the house but for the life of me after going through a billion driver updates and whatnot i cant get it to work on my pc...
any ideas?

Last time I had to mess with a joystick like that, I had to set it as a generic joystick to get it to work properly. It could also be dead too. Hopefully it still works though.

Okay so for more clarification
it works on other computers
the error message above is if i try to add it manually
when its plugged in, it shows up correctly in device manager and in game controllers options, it just wont display any input.
You're plugging this thing into the gameport on your sound card, right? What sound card do you have?
Update/reinstall drivers maybe?

actually its a USB joystick, so i have no freaking clue whats going on.
I'm nearly certain it has to do with the hardware configuration on this computer though, since it works on my friends system, and i've now tried 2 different hard drives on this pc and the same thing.
(which is no response in games or the Game Controllers > properties menu despite windows showing it correctly.)
