So I got my tax check in. and i got paid and I got a bonus yadda yadda yadda, well I have fun money and I want to buy a new PC monitor. But man I don't know WHAT to get in a new PC monitor.
This guy looks good, it has HDMI and HDCP support, and its big, but I want to think I can get something similar cheaper, like with This guy which is only 1 inch smaller, but its Acer, and I'm not sure how they measure up.
I made a similar post in G&T a few months ago but they didn't really bite and moved past me to talk about TVs or something stupid. So I figured I'd move to my old standby, SE++. So technophiles help me spend my money!
I sent it to Kyira. He has childern to feed. All you have is Cap. However I do have your address and when Secret Satan comes around again I might be sending some random people 2 pound bags of gummies.
Oh man, if you're looking for a high def computer monitor you really, really cannot beat Samsung's Touch of Color line. It's fucking amazing how good everything looks. Blew my mind the first time I saw a game being played on one back at Circuit City.
And Samsung has great HDTVs, but their PC monitors are lacking. Right now from what I've experienced and I can tell both Gateway and Dell have some of the best monitors for your dollar.

Man I've seen both Gateway and Dell's newest line and neither of them come close to Samsung's touch of color. Unless maybe the ToC has some hardware issues, I can't see why you wouldn't want to get one.

It's more expensive than either of those, but I promise you that if you use your monitor to watch movies or play games you won't be disappointed.
I was looking at that, but it was mentioned that 22 inches isn't full HD, you need at least 24 inches for that, plus the Samsung has no HDMI input, and part of the reason I want this is to play my 360 and watch HD movies on it as WELL as having a big screen for my pretty PC games.
Yeah, I didn't think about that. 22" isn't to full 1080p, which is probably why they didn't put an hdmi port on it. The next step up, the 25 inch, has an hdmi port, but it's also 200 dollars more.

well thats why I was looking at the Asus, I hear there a good brand and if I recall from my Laptop salesman days Ascer blows chunks out loud.
the built in speakers on my monitor are so weak i need to get some speakers so i don't rely on subtitles to understand what people are saying in my vidya gaems

Don't buy a 23" monitor. That's just a bad idea. All weird resolution ratios and less pixel real estate per inch. Fuck dat. A 22" monitor has even less pixel real estate.
Also the first one you linked is better for games if you're getting a pretty high frame rate. I'm quite surprised it's as cheap as it is.
