Thanks for the sheet. I meant to qualify my time by saying I can generally only do realtime things after 9pm. Pbp I can do pretty much anytime of the day or night.

Just curious. I know of an abandoned Vent server from one of my old WoW guilds that we can use if necessary. Or you guys can use, if I don't end up being selected.

Sorry! To clarify, all I can do is PbP.

Also, I ran KotS as a DM, so I don't know if you would want me as a player for that.

The custom campaign premise sounds cool, though!

So yeah, to clarify because I'm dumb.. My timezone is EDT (-4) right now, not EST, because of daylight savings. I'm fine with late nights or anytime on the weekend. Hopefully we can work the gametable thing out, it sounds fun. I'll go ahead and post my character. I've never made a character before, so if there's any problems with this one or things I should change, let me know.

    Erevar, Eladrin Wizard
Personality Traits: Confident not only in his abilities but of his judgement and perception of the world, he often views common people as obstacles. Their lack of knowledge and reason for being, prevent him from viewing them as more. He ventures with his chosen companions because most of them have proven themselves to be of some worth, however much. Often deep in thought, he comes across as reserved and quiet. Saying things that are necessary, or instructional. He is not one for commotion and prefers the quiet of a study.

Appearance: The first thing noticed about Erevar are his eyes, the violet orbs appear to take in the world with a calm but thorough stare.Tall and slender, his appearance is regal, as though his features were carefully chosen. He often wears a cloak and hood to shield him from others as much as the environment.

Background: Erevar was born into a family with expectations. His father, like his father before him and so on, had been an accomplished and famed wizard. In keeping with this tradition, Erevar has spent much of his life deligently studying the arcane. He knew his father in name more than person, for they rarely met. His childhood was spent studying with brief visits for his father to view his progress. At some point his father stopped visting. The expectations placed upon him propel him toward greater success but also place a heavy burden upon him. This burden drove him to seek any means by which he could advance himself at a faster pace. This irresponsible desire led him to a group with similar hopes and dark means. The powers they unleashed were beyond their control, and many paid with their lives to merely contain it. In the aftermath, the survivors scattered about the world, fearing the consequences of being linked to such an event as much as the return of the dark powers set free. He joins his companions to better himself, hoping that the knowledge and the reputation he earns adventuring will someday surpass that of his father.

    Another option:

    Jardir, Eladrin Tactical Warlord
Background: Jardir, from his first days as a youngling in the Feywild, knew his destiny. He was going to be a soldier, leading men into battle against the Drow and their twisted goddess. Fortunately for Jardir's destiny, he was well suited to his role, with a quick mind and good sense. His arm was strong, and his feet quick and sure.

And for almost a hundred years, Jardir fought as he had dreamed of fighting, with spear and sword, standing shoulder to shoulder with brothers in arms, leading men time and again into the vortex of mayhem and death, and bringing them out the other side. Years of battle sharpened his mind and gave him insight into his enemies. Unfortunately, events conspired to thwart Jardir's destiny.

Jardir's company found itself part of a larger force during the summer of his 114th year, in a campaign to crush a branch of the Drow Underdark that had been discovered near a crossing point between the mundane realms and the Feywild. Command of the force fell to a popular, well-connected general who wielded charisma in abundance, but little in the way of imagination or battle experience. Fate seemed to be on the side of the general, though, as several raiding forces of Drow were routed as the march continued. Jardir sensed something was amiss, but his warnings fell on deaf ears.

The rout of the next raiding force proved to be the army's undoing. Spread out and uncoordinated in pursuit of the fleeing enemy, the Eladrin were struck, seemingly from all sides, by an unstoppable tide of Lolthtouched warriors. An attempted retreat turned into a full-scale rout as the Eladrin fled the field, till only Jardir's lonely company stood in good order to guard the remains of the collapsing army. The stood for hours, buying their brethren time, and Jardir surpassed himself, his words didn't merely order, they inspired, his voice didn't just command, it exhorted Eladrin to valorous deeds worthy of a bards song. Even so, they could not stand forever, and one by one, they died, till Jardir was the only one left, screaming his defiance as the tide of his dark cousins bore him under.

He awoke the next day, half buried in the corpses of his men and their enemies. Over the days it took Jardir to reach his homeland, he planned his next moves meticulously. Upon reaching civilization, he took action: he visited the families of his men, he submitted a report of the battle to his superiors, resigned, then insulted his former commander and challenged him to a duel. It wasn't even a contest, and when the general begged for mercy, Jardir barely hesitated before he stabbed him through the heart.

Now, an exile from his native land, Jardir wanders the world of men, searching for companions with valor and loyalty to match the men he could not save.

Officer Who Came Out of Retirement - +1 Initiative +1 History
Personality Traits: Jardir personifies "aloof." Some who know him believe him far older than a mere 100 or so years, instead telling stories about his serving as an exemplar for standoffishness since the dawn of time. Jardir also has an instinctive distrust for higher authority, preferring at all times to be his own highest authority. That's not to say he cannot trust his comrades, but he doesn't take orders well. Prove your worth to Jardir, though, and you'll find you have an invaluable ally in your struggles.
Mannerisms and Appearance: Jardir is tall and well built like most of his kind, with white hair. His face, hands and arms show evidence of his time as a soldier, some scars are so old they're almost invisible, while others are more recent. His clothing is clean and well-maintained, and shows little evidence of wear. Jardir appears to scowl perpetually, except around children, when his face relaxes into what one might charitably call polite disinterest.

Is there still room for this? I've been wanting to try to get in on one of these for a long time now but never could gather up the necessary courage to make a post. I'm more used to the standard, sitting in front of a table eating chips and drinking Mt. Dew, style of playing D&D. The Play By Post form is a mystery to me, though I would not mind learning it better. Seems quite a few people have already posted characters, and I don't know how this works, really. Do you choose a few select people from those that post their sheets and go from there, or what?

    That's the general idea, yeah.

I've never pbp'd either, but damn! I've been reading all the other campaigns here and I've fallen in love with the collaborative narrative and dramatic tension. It's like everything I've ever wanted out of a DnD game but that I haven't found in my real life games. I'm really hoping to get into one myself.

    Good luck!

    I don't see why not.

Edit: I mean that for reals, I'm only vaguely familiar with the Warden as a class and I'm unaware of anything that would stop its being usable.

Alright, made a character with Myth-Weavers:

    Arthen Ironbrow

    Arthen Ironbrow, Dwarf Warden
    Init +0 HP 35/35 Bloodied 17 Healing Surge 8 ( used /13)
    AC 19 Fort 14 Reflex 12 Will 12 Speed 5
    Str 17 (+3) Con 18 (+4) Dex 10 (+0) Int 10 (+0) Wis 13 (+1) Cha 8 (-1)
'Warden's Fury', 'Weight of Earth', 'Thunder Ram Assault', 'Form of Winter's Herald Attack', 'Warden's Grasp', 'Thorn Strike', 'Form of Winter's Herald'
    Notes

EDIT: Just thought I'd mention that if the character doesn't fit with the campaign, that's fine. Certainly don't feel compelled to let me in to the campaign if the character isn't right, just because I'm new.

    Garious, Human Bard Arcane Leader
    Init +0 HP /24 Bloodied 12 Healing Surge 6 ( used /8)
    AC 14 Fort 12 Reflex 12 Will 16 Speed 6
    Str 10 (+0) Con 12 (+1) Dex 10 (+0) Int 13 (+1) Wis 9 (-1) Cha 20 (+5)
    Second Wind
    Misdirected Mark
    War Song Strike
    Vicious Mockery
    Majestic Word
    Words of Friendship
    Blunder
    Stirring Shout
    Notes +2 AC vs OA

    Personality/Mannerisms
Garious loves people! He will do anything to become the center of attention at any gathering anywhere. He will entertain, carrouse, tell jokes and recount tales. He especially loves women, and seeks out pleasurable company wherever he winds up. Unfortunately for him, that also means dealing with the consequences when the baron/husband/lover comes to find his charms have been applied to the wrong woman. When his honeyed words fail him, he relies on his physical abilities and his wits to get him out of harms way. Unfortunately for Garious, these are not usually his strong suits.

When Garious isn't out looking for one kind of action, he's usually with a group looking for a different kind of action all together. If there's one thing he likes more than telling stories, is collecting a few interesting ones to tell. He doesn't mind picking up some coin and an interesting ritual or two on the side, and if he gets his pretty face scarred up a bit, thats fine. Chicks dig scars.

Until he can find a cleric that is.

    Appearance
The most charming face you've ever seen. Would you ever even think about hurting this man, so full of good natured humor and the vim of life? Many creatures are stuck with these thoughts in theirhead as his longsword is violently intersecting their torsos, or an arrow is lodged in their necks. Not too tall. Not too bulky. Golden hair that is kept just so. Blue eyes that can intimidate or invite. Often seems out of place on the field of battle. That's just the way he likes it.
