Alright so here's what I want.
In my work I end up copy/pasting a lot of stuff, but I also have several extremely common sets of keystrokes that are relatively long, and since my clipboard is almost always in high demand, all these common strokes must be either typed by hand every time, or i have to spend more time than they're worth copying them from the last time I typed them.
So I want to basically be able to macro text to my keyboard buttons. ie: I press f1, and my keyboard acts like I just typed "Hello world!", or something to that effect anyway.
Couple questions: 1. Can this be done on a basic keyboard? I'm not using anything special for my typing, a lot of notepad and a little visual .net, so it would be preferable if it were not software specific in its usage.
2. If I can't do this on a basic keyboard, then how can I accomplish this? I'm going to assume it is possible, but I don't know much about how I'd go about it, so I leave it to you crew. Educate me!

Close thread.
I'm really just looking for a keyboard to streamline my work, not for use at home. That one's nice, but man. Probably a bit overqualified >.>
I just use it these days as my username and password storage system. One button fills the user field, tabs, fills the password, and hits enter ^_^.
