Recommendations of the Musickal Sort - The Loud Version

Yes, I know that there's another thread on the front page, but I'm looking for something with a little more substance, and I listen to all of the good bands that sound like Radiohead already.
I'm looking to extend my music collection. I'm saving up for a 120GB Zune because my wife won't let me use the credit card, but I only have ~40GB of music and would like to put a larger dent in the HD upon its purchase.
I like a broad range of music, but am looking for something a bit louder right now.
Bands that I've been listening to of late:
Mastodon
Skinny Puppy
Ministry
Strapping Young Lad
Nine Inch Nails
oHgr
Coil
Tool
Killing Joke
Between the Buried and Me
Avenged Sevenfold (the s/t, not the earlier stuff)
Disturbed
So whaddaya say, PA?

Well... yeah. Either metal or GOOD industrial.

Gojira - The Way of All Flesh is excellent
Iced Earth
Three Inches of Blood (if you don't mind falsetto)
Mesuggah - I like Nothing the best
In Flames - try Clayman
Children of Bodom - ridiculous guitar solos, if that's your thing. Way better than the inevitable dragonforce post that this thread will get. See their guitarists in action: Verdi's Four Seasons
Isis - Panopticon is the album I use to introduce people to them
At The Gates - Slaughter of the Soul
Amon Amarth - Twilight of the Thunder God. If you like vikings, this may be for you.

Thanks Doc. I've got Isis (saw them open for Tool), Amon Amarth, At the Gates, and Meshuggah.
Gojira have been peaking my curiosity every time I see the album at HMV. I'll take a look.
Iced Earth and In Flames make me cry, but I like Children of Bodom.

I will second the Meshuggah, Amon Amarth, and Gojira recommendations... and although I would also recommend Isis, I would also say that 'Oceanic' is a better starter album than 'Panopticon' (though both are quite good).
Burst is quite like Between the Buried and me in their attempt to mesh metalcore, progressive metal, and just weird unlikely stuff like atmospheric or soft rock. Any of their stuff is worth checking out.
The Human Abstract is basically a Between the Buried and Me clone, but you might as well give them a try.
Intronaut is really heavy and also extremely complex. Their bassist is also completely nuts, and he plays things on a fretless that sound like pure molten sugar. They also have some Tool-esque Indian music influences on a few tracks. Their latest album 'Prehistoricisms' is fantastic.
And you may or may not like them since they're not metal, but These Arms Are Snakes have a very... loud... sound, if that makes sense. Go for their latest, 'Tail Swallower and Dove'... post-hardcore punk, but with distorted guitars and general feel which I guess is kind of metal. Not really.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Three older Heavy Metal bands that are still completely awesome today are Black Sabbath (Ozzy Osbourne's considerable volume of work once he left Black Sabbath also counts), Iron Maiden, and Judas Priest. Really, you can't go wrong with any of them.
I've just discovered a band called Have A Nice life. They are a bit of a mix-up in terms of genres. They only have one album at the moment (Deathconsciousness) but it is quite good, and can be very loud.
I don't really agree Dark Tranquillity's older stuff is better. I'd say their whole library is pretty great. They'd pretty much be the first thing I'd recommend. Opeth probably second.
Loud, huh? I like a fairly wide range of metal, so I'll just throw out a bunch of stuff. What's wrong with Iced Earth anyway? I'll post a song from good albums of the louder bands I like. I tend to go toward more "melodic" stuff, even with my loud metal, however. Amon Amarth was already listed. If you like them you may like some of these.
Is there a way not to embed the videos? I want to link to the higher quality versions. Ah well.
I think they get overlooked because of the "nu-metal" genre they get lumped into, but Deftones are miles above any other trash with that label. They're way too experimental and progressive to deserve that generic tag and there's a reason they're still rolling despite the rest of the crowd disappearing. They peaked with White Pony but every album they've released is good in its own right.
They run the range from sort of ambient mood metal to super aggressive scream-fests but if you're into Tool you should like them.
Not one of their "louder" tracks but one of my favorite songs of all time..
Oh yeah, I will second Deftones, they are a fantastic band. Also Isis, I think Doc mentioned them. Panopticon is a great album.
Just to chuck a few more out there: System of a Down, Death from Above 1979, Scars on Broadway, and a good Aussie band, Daysend. I haven't heard their new album, but the first (Severance) was good.
if you like Mastodon you will probably like Baroness.
Grab the Red Album, their most recent one. It is delicious.
Also try Red Fang. They are like drunk blues metal.

I'll second Iron Maiden- Great great band.
And, a little different than the other suggestions: Kings X
They were grunge before grunge was grunge, but they've kept making subtle shifts in their music so they never got dull. However, you might find their first few albums to sound really dated (they had a lot of 80's signature sounds but with their own style. Of course, they started in the 80's so those overtones are kind of expected I guess...

Four words: When the Eagle Cries.
Although I did't really care for the style of music they play before I heard it, that song put me off Iced Earth for good.
Thanks for the rest of your suggestions though. When I get some time next week I'm going to go through this thread and check out each and every one of these bands. I really appreciate the help, guys.
Keep 'em coming!

but that song sounds nothing like the rest of their music (plus, it has a new singer... one who doesn't fit the music imo)

And they have their old vocalist, Matt Barlow, back now anyway. The newest album has him on vocals again. It's not their best work but it's a lot better than when they had Tim Owens.
They actually had 2 albums with Owens as vocalist. The second, Framing Armageddon, is admittedly a lot better than The Glorious Burden, but still not great. I did like the Gettysburg trio though.

hmm... you know, i'm not sure I want to check out the other Tim Owens album, but I'd gladly check out the barlow one.
