Copying a Gamertag Profile?

I have two hardrives for my 360 and every time I switch between them I have to recover my gamertag profile. While it doesn't take a huge amount of time it is kinda annoying. Each time I switch there is an error message that mentions either recovering or copying my gamertag profile. What is copying and how do I do it? It would be pretty sweet if I could have the same gamertag profile on both drives without paying an extra fee or anything.

Your best bet is copying it to the internal memory or saving it to a cheap memory card. Afaik having the same profile saved to the harddrives could cause issues with data being accurate.

Either way you can copy it via My xbox-> memory management.

You can't do what you want to do. I tried for a couple of weeks. Go get a memory unit and save it to that.

Yeah, I use a memory unit. It's super easy and you can set it to auto-sign-in off the card so you never need to copy it once it's on the MU.

Why do you have two hard drives, incidentally? You might be able to transfer the saves with the MU and end up with only one - the only games I know of that don't let you do this are Perfect Dark Zero and Rock Band 1.

Thanks all. Looks like I'll pick up a memory card. I have two hardrives because both are only 20gb and one is for Final Fantasy XI which pretty much takes up the full 20. Maybe I should get a 60gb but $100 and having to redownload everything makes me hesitant.

This is related... My Box died right before SF4 came out and it was just out of the 3 year warranty period, which made my going out and buying a Jasper Arcade unit that much easier. Now though, whenever I start up, I have to go to my profiles and explicitly select the one I want to login as. Before when I only had the one hard drive and no memory units, it automatically logged me in. Am I doomed or is there a way to make it choose a profile and login automatically? I poked around the menus a bit and didn't see anything.

edit: If it wasn't clear what happened, I took the old hard drive and plunked it in the new arcade unit.

There is an option, it might be right in the profile preferences, to set a profile as the default one. So in other words

    Poke harder.

It's there. From memory, it's in the pop-up guide, on the right-hand wing, under Profile>Auto Sign-in.
