Last week, I fell and hit my head. I also have had a bit of a head cold. I've had a lot of dizziness, and some nausea and vomiting.
Went to the doctor, and he let me know I have vertigo. Gave me Dramamine for the dizziness and Procholorperazine for nausea. So far the Dramamine has not helped.
What I need to know is, how long is this going to last? It's been 4 days so far, and I can't afford to keep missing work, but I can't drive or really function. Thanks!

You're in California?
I think there are some other drugs they can give you (some of the shit they use for chemo patients). Talk to your doctor. You might have to go a little off the reservation, but given where you live, there are other options available, too, though I don't know how helpful they are with vertigo, specifically.
Seems like a thorough checkup would be in order if you sustained a head injury and now you have vertigo. Did the doc do anything but prescribe medication? If not, maybe it's time to find a different doctor? It seems like finding the (potentially serious) cause of the vertigo would be a good idea instead of just treating the symptoms.

Back in the day, bucko, we just had an A and a B button... and we liked it.
Yeah, that could all be signs of a concussion. Get to a sports injury doctor if you can find one. Post-concussion syndrome can be a pain.
Concussion symptoms can last anywhere from several days to several months, unfortunately. If you treat yourself right (plenty of rest, and I mean plenty) among other things, you can help yourself out a lot. Seriously, though, if this lasts more than a few more days, specialist-up.
The nausea is directly related to the dizziness. I really don't think it's a concussion. No light artifacts or sensitivity, no holes in the memory, and the nausea correlates directly with the dizziness. Dizziness is the symptom I want to go away (which I don't think weed helps with, but thanks Thanatos).
Yes, this walk in clinic doc did give me a cursory exam. Nothing too involved, no cat scan, but did check my eyes and ears -- I do have increased inner ear pressure, probably from my cold, which is another potential cause of the whole thing. I have no disagreement or reason to question the diagnosis. I just want the damn stuff to go away!
